Letter to the Pastor requesting the Sacrament of Confirmation
The Confirmation Candidates are required to write a letter to our Pastor,
Very Rev. Canon Christopher Henyk. The purpose of this letter is to request the Sacrament and to demonstrate the reasons why the candidate is choosing to be Confirmed.
The criteria for the letter:
Please neatly write or type the letter.
The greeting of the letter should read: "Dear Father, Henyk"
The body of the letter should begin with an introduction of who you are and why you are writing this letter.
The second paragraph should list the reasons why you believe you are prepared to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. It should be at least 6-8 complete sentences.
You should have a wrap-up line or two
Be sure to sign your full name at the end of the letter.
Below are questions that will help you to formulate your letter:
✓ Why do I want to be confirmed?
✓ What types of service have I done this year and in the last 3 years?
✓ What is my Confirmation name? Why did I choose this name?
✓ Who is my sponsor? Why did I choose this person?
✓ What is one thing I have learned through the Confirmation process?
✓ How do I plan to continue my faith journey?
✓ How will I be active in the Church?
✓ What types of ministries do I want to participate in or learn more about?
Please remember that this letter is going to our Pastor. Take time to check your spelling and grammar. The finished product should look neat and as though you have taken time to prepare it. It should also be in letter format, not a paragraph.

Remember to spell the sacrament correctly: CONFIRMATION not Conformation.
