Smart Cycling
Ready to start commuting but don’t know how to navigate traffic? Want to know how to ride safely? Sign up for our Smart Cycling Traffic Skills class. As part of our educational programs, our program director Jack Becker is leading a two-day Smart Cycling Course. *you must attend both sessions and complete an assessment test (in-class or electronically) to be Smart Cycling Certified.

Class Schedule

Friday 4-7PM: no bike needed for the classroom presentation
> Located at 100 Tulare Street, Bakersfield CA 93305 (Prevention and Community Partnerships large conference room)

Saturday 9 am-2 pm: bike and helmet required for on-the-road portion, lunch break from 12-1PM
> Located at the 2727 F. Street, Bakersfield CA 93301 (KHSD Career Resources Department)

You will need to have a fully functional bike and a helmet to participate on Saturday. If you need help with your bike or obtaining a helmet, make arrangements with Bike Bakersfield before the event by calling 661-321-9247 or sending a email to info@bikebakersfield.org.
