Join Us for DEIJ Day of Learning!

Engage in a transformative day of learning and dialogue at the DEIJ Day of Learning, hosted by The Coalition for the Delaware River Watershed (CDRW) DEIJ workgroup in collaboration with New Jersey League of Conservation Voters (NJ LCV) and Conservation Voters of Pennsylvania. This event will explore key topics of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ). You can learn more about the event and view the agenda here.

Join our featured presenter -  NJ Department of Environmental Protection's Office of Environmental Justice - for a discussion on how the Garden state is addressing DEIJ in community outreach and project implementation.

Additionally, through interactive workshops, engaging discussions, and expert-led sessions, participants will gain valuable insights and tools to advance DEIJ principles within their organizations and communities. Let's work together to create a more inclusive and equitable future for all!

Please note that lunch will not be provided during the event. We kindly ask all attendees to bring their own meals to enjoy during the designated lunch break.

Below you will find the affinity groups we are considering. Please select one you'd like to participate in:

Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC):
The BIPOC affinity group is a space designed to create community among BIPOC attendees. This space will serve as a place of information and idea gathering and sharing, recommendations for change within CDRW or their organization, outlet for shared and individual experiences of BIPOC staff, and a common place of community and fellowship.

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex and Asexual.  (LGBTQIA+):
The goals of this group are to provide: peer to peer support; self-advocacy within CDRW and your organization; education and outreach to support LGBTQ communities; and connections with other LGBTQ staff in the watershed.  The goals of this group are to provide: peer to peer support; self-advocacy within CDRW and your organization; education and outreach to support LGBTQ communities; and connections with other LGBTQ staff in the watershed.

Aspiring Allies:
As aspiring allies, this affinity group allows members of the dominant culture an opportunity to identify ways that can appropriately use privilege to bring about social change. This designed space aims for its participants to share and process experiences, ask questions, exchange information and ideas, and address challenges in working towards DEIJ.

Emerging Professionals:
Network with others in the early stages of their career or those just entering the environmental field. This is a designated space for emerging professionals to connect and hear from others working in the environmental field. We welcome any members who still consider themselves "emerging professionals," regardless of position, title, level of education, or tenure in the field.
If not listed above, which other affinity groups would you like to see represented, or which other affinity groups do you identify with?
