Committee Descriptions are below.  Volunteers for each committee would have the support of one or more members of the PTA board to help answer questions.  You can indicate if you are interested or if you would like more information before deciding if you would like to volunteer on that committee.  You can skip questions for committees you are not interested in helping with.

Advocacy Committee - This committee will lead our PTA in the act of publicly supporting or recommending causes, ideas or policies. (current year lead: Joanne Barkmeier)

School Board Meetings/Updates - volunteers will sign up to attend school board meeting to  provide information and updates from the RPS school board meetings and study sessions at our monthly PTA meetings. (current year lead: Joanne Barkmeier)

Parent and Caregiver Support - This group will be responsible for finding resources like parent coaching, support groups and education for our parents and caregivers.

PTA Meeting Hospitality - This committee will take the lead on providing resources and a welcoming atmosphere for our PTA meetings.  Including setting up for meetings, purchasing snacks, connecting with child care and arranging interpreters.

Events - This group will be tasked with planning, organizing, and executing events for our PTA.

Book Fairs - This committee will deal with all of the logistics of the two book fairs held by the PTA each year. (current year lead: Marie Fejedelem)

Supply Drive - This committee will plan, organize and execute our annual supply drive. (current year leads: Janet Verdoorn & Meredith Pittelkow)

Staff Appreciation and Hospitality - This group will be responsible for providing meals during conferences as well as the staff appreciation week in May.  Funding for the main course is provided by PTA.  Volunteers will receive support from the PTA board.

Memory Book - This committee will be tasked with putting together our annual memory book. (current lead: Alissa Naymark)

Boosterthon - This committee will be tasked with all of the logistics of our annual fundraiser.  This year it will be a Boosterthon in January.  (current year lead: Marie Fejedelem)

Spirit wear - This group will be in charge of putting together spirit wear that can be sold on our givebacks website. (will receive support from PTA board)

5th Grade Graduation - This committee will be responsible for representing the PTA activities related to 5th grade graduation.

Grant Writing - This group will be responsible for applying for and obtaining grants from various sources for Bamber Valley PTA. (current lead: Shelly Sprenger)
