Scholarships ranging from $100 to $400 can be used for travel, registration, room and board and/or NATWA membership. The criteria by which we will decide on the scholarship recipients are:
a) financial need
b) applicant's willingness to be active with NATWA II
c) responses to the questions below
d) geographic diversity (to encourage and support the attendance of women from Canada, New England, East Coast, South, Midwest, So. Cal, No. Cal, and Pacific Northwest)
e) those who have not received scholarships or any stipends from NATWA or NATWA II in the past will receive higher priority. Priority will also be given to first time attendees.
The amount of the scholarship will be awarded on a sliding scale based on the distance of travel.
Applications are due by Sunday March 25, 2015. The NATWAII committee will make its decisions by March 27, 2015 in order to provide sufficient time for scholarship recipients to make travel plans and other necessary arrangements to attend the convention as well as to register by March 30th so that you can receive the early bird discount on the registration fee. If offered a scholarship, you will need to inform us if you accept it as soon as possible.
While the NATWA convention is from Thursday, April 16 to Sunday, April 21, the NATWA II program begins Friday, April 17 in the evening and continues until 12PM Sunday, April 19, with an optional group activity on Sunday, April 20 if you can stay.
We encourage you to look at our website www.natwa2.org for more information about NATWA II and highlights of past conventions. Feel free to contact us at email@example.com, if you have further questions.
