Bargaining Observer Registration
As a member-run union, we’re proud to have secured the right for our members to observe contract bargaining sessions as we work toward new local agreements with Kaiser.
Due to room capacity limits, space for observers is limited. Please only register for sessions you are confident you can attend. Registration will close once capacity is reached, and you must register at least 24 hours before the session begins.
Priority will be given to members of the bargaining unit relevant to each session.
Please note: Incomplete registrations or failure to follow observer guidelines may result in removal from the session or denial of entry.

OBSERVERS FOR NW LOCAL BARGAINING 2025 – EXPECTATIONS AND AGREEMENT 
1. OFNHP or ILWU and KPNW will meet to jointly identify local bargaining sessions, either in whole or in part, that will be open to observers. 
2. Observers may attend the identified bargaining sessions but may not participate in table discussion.
3. The number of observers allowed at any bargaining session shall be limited by the capacity of the meeting room. Based on capacity, an equal number of seats will be allotted to each party for observers - if there are fewer observers for one party, the other party may fill the remaining seats. All observers must be seated in chairs - standing-room-only attendance is not permitted. Bargaining session calendars will be updated to include room maximum capacity.
4. The parties agree that fire codes and room capacity limits must be strictly observed. Observers should not be disruptive and only join a bargaining session at the beginning of the session or after a break.  
5. Passing notes, texting, or communicating directly with bargaining team members during bargaining sessions is prohibited because it will distract them from the business at hand.  
6. Observers must pre-register for each bargaining session to be permitted entry.  
7. Observers are required to sign a non-disclosure agreement and comply with its terms. NDAs will be available at each session. 
8. Observers will be included on the bargaining session attendance log as Observers.  
9. Observers will wear a badge that identifies them as an observer and that must be worn at bargaining sessions and is required for admission to meetings. The name badge should be returned at the end of the day/session. Labor and Management will each manage their own observer logistics.
10. Observers will not be paid for attending a bargaining session.   
11. Time off specifically for observing a bargaining session will be done as operations allow and will follow normal processes for request and approval.  
12. All observers shall sign an attestation accepting the Observers for NW Local Bargaining 2025 Expectations and Agreement.  Failure by an observer to comply with the expectations set forth above will be cause for immediate removal from a session. This question serves as that attestation. *
