BGMB 2024 Volunteer Sign-up Form

Volunteers will indicate their skills and receive general tasks based on their strengths and the program needs, but please indicate the roles you would be interested in where prompted below. The roles this year will operate a little differently than last year, in that volunteers will work more on program branding and growth rather than summer program logistics. Roles may shift closer to the summer if hands-on assistance is needed.
Roles available at this time:
Future & Growth-
Volunteers would be tasked with researching and creating a timeline for BGMB to become a registered nonprofit, looking into & planning future field trips like college tours, creating a plan for a BGMB grant program, and brainstorming ideas for growing the program.
Merchandise Design-
Volunteers will design new merchandise and create a portfolio. They will also compare prices across companies for custom products.
Campaign Coordinator-
Volunteers would lead the BGMB Ambassador Project- partnerships with black business women and black owned businesses to mutually promote our initiatives on social media. They would also brainstorm and execute social media campaigns for BGMB.
Content-
Volunteers would research and collect a database of scholarships, articles, and content for the resource packet. They would also brainstorm and research fun activities to be included in the workshops.
Media-
Volunteers work make content for and manage the BGMB TikTok, Twitter, and LinkedIn as well as make content for the Instagram, design website pages, take pictures during events, and work on putting together a video promotion.
There is no age requirement or limit to be a volunteer. We are taking all genders and all races from anywhere in the U.S. Volunteers will earn up to 2 hours of community service a week (hours are flexible). We will check in occasionally via text, email, or Zoom to assign tasks or do check-ins, but for the most part you will be working at your own pace. The commitment is for 1 year (October 2022- October 2023), but we can make adjustments to work for less or more time depending on your needs.
