Mentor Application
Thank you for your interest in becoming a mentor with Black Girls Gather’s Graduate to Employment Pathway Program.
The Graduate to Employment Pathway Program is a four-month program that has been developed to provide career development supports and opportunities for newly graduated Black women in Atlantic Canada. This program will create those opportunities through mutually beneficial mentoring relationships. Your contributions as a mentor will be of value to your mentee, and to mandate of Black Girls Gather to retain well trained, young Black Women in Atlantic Canada.
As a mentor you will:
· Meet with your mentee and engage in mentoring activities in-person/online
· Work directly with my mentee to schedule ongoing meetings
. Share your experiences, successes, and challenges with your mentee
· Stay accessible, committed, and engaged during the length of the program
· Listen well and provide open and candid feedback
· Be a positive role model
· Share “lessons learned” from your own experiences
· Be a resource and a sounding board
. Assist your mentee to secure employment in their chosen field
· Keep your conversations confidential
You will also be required to:
· Attend a Mentor Orientation session
· Complete Program surveys
