Thank you for your interest in joining our bakery! We are looking to expand our decorating class offerings this holiday season (and beyond!). This position would be ideal for a multi-tasker and self-starter, who can take the initiative to design and teach decorating classes of whatever your specialty or interest may be. The ideal applicant will have general knowledge of working in customer service and/or a previous bakery. The ideal candidate would also be someone that has experience teaching, in either an academic setting, and previous baking/decorating class instruction. We are looking for a creative person with the talent of decorating, but primarily someone that excels at teaching to create a fun, positive and encouraging experience for our customers. Patience, maturity, and an outgoing personality is a must!
Specialties for teaching may include the following and beyond: decorating sugar cookies with royal icing, cake and cupcake decorating with buttercream, chocolate chip cookie cake decorating with buttercream, drop cookie baking, any other sort of baking you might have knowledge of (macarons, bread baking, croissants, rolls, homemade pasta, etc). You can choose from our set designs of already established classes, but we're really looking for fresh new ideas! You would have help with class if you needed an extra pair of hands on deck.
This position would truly be setting your own hours. You make the class schedule and hours, decide whether you want to prep yourself or have our team help in preparations, and you would have help during class if need be. Ideal times are Saturdays and Sundays, but we also offer week night classes. This would be a part time position, but can create as many hours as you would like to build for yourself, and off site teaching is a possibility, at venues outside of the bakery (bars, restaurants, halls).
Please fill out this form so we may evaluate your application. Feel free to follow up with a formal resume by emailing rosalie.c@buffalocakepops.com. We would love to see examples of products you have decorated in the past!
