Stars of Energy Efficiency Awards

The Stars of Energy Efficiency Awards honor organizations and individuals that have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to advancing energy efficiency. These prestigious awards recognize those industry leaders who have made exceptional strides in implementing innovative products, emerging technologies, and transformational practices or services to achieve significant energy savings. The recipients of the Stars of Energy Efficiency Awards are pioneers in their respective fields, serving as role models for other organizations and inspiring industry-wide change. 

We will be accepting nominations for the following areas:

  • Building Environment (Residential and/or Commercial)
  • Transportation and Infrastructure
  • Power and Utilities
  • Innovation in Energy Research and Analysis 
  • Community Engagement and Education

Candidates for these awards should demonstrate a significant impact in one or more of the Alliance's four priority areas for energy efficiency: Equity, Reliability, Affordability, and Decarbonization.

Nominations are due Friday, July 22, 2024 by 5:00 pm ET. Judging Criteria

  1. Have demonstrated an outstanding and/or unique contribution to energy efficiency.
  2. Evidence that actions taken (program, practice, etc.) can be replicated and/or can serve as a catalyst for further efficiency gains. For yet-to-be-implemented nominations, evidence of the unique approaches being taken to overcome market barriers and the anticipated timeline and sequence for implementation.                
  3. In meeting the energy efficiency goals described in the submission, nominees will receive credit for:
  •  Innovation and creativity;
  • Degree of difficulty in overcoming challenges to meet efficiency goals;
  • Contribution to making the energy system more equitable, reliable, and/or affordable;
  • Contribution to decarbonization, in addition to efficiency gains; and/or,
  • Leadership within the nominee’s discipline (industry, academia, govt., etc.)
Helpful Hints: The principal consideration for judges will be the impact or potential impact of the nominee's efforts on equity, reliability, affordability, and decarbonization in the sector and willingness to go “beyond the call of duty” in the name of efficiency.
