Cancellation, Make up and Refund policy
  • All weather-related cancellations are announced with as much notice as we are able to provide.
  • Makeup Classes: We will reschedule all classes canceled due to instructor errors or weather conditions to the best of our ability (please note that weather conditions are not in our control and may sometimes prevent us from offering a make up class).
  • A 4 person minimum is required for all program groups. If we have only 3 people signed up for a group, we will still offer the class but there will be a $5 surcharge per person/per class to make up for the smaller size of the group. We will notify you in advance, should we need to cancel or adjust the cost for a particular group.
  • We do not reimburse for missed classes for any reason. No refunds will be provided after a session has started. A credit may be issued for a future session for valid medical concerns that limit participation.
  • We do not pro rate class fees for any reason, with the exception of the new players who join a session after the start date. We will not pro rate fees and hold a spot for players to start mid session.
  • We allow make ups for missed classes due to illness or unforeseen circumstances within reason on a space available basis. Please note that classes are often full and there may not be an available spot for make ups at your class level. 
  • Makeups should happen in the same session and should be scheduled in advance.
  • As a condition of the enrollment/ registration of Hunter Mill Swim & Racquet Club (HMSRC) tennis and pickleball sessions, the respective adult and/or legal guardian of the student does hereby, on behalf of such student, assume the risk inherent in the participation of such activities and has disclosed all inherent handicaps or disabilities that such student may have. The respective adult and/or legal guardian does hereby acknowledge that HMSRC shall not be liable for any damages arising from personal injuries or damages sustained by the adult or student in, on, or about the premises of HMSRC. The respective adult and/or legal guardian assumes full responsibility for any injuries or damages that might arise from the participation of tennis and pickleball sessions and does hereby and forever release and discharge HMSRC, owners, employees, and agents from any and all claims, demands, damages, rights or causes of action, present or future, whether the same be known or unknown, anticipated or unanticipated, resulting from or arising out the participation in the activities of the HMSRC tennis and pickleball programs and camps.

Court Info: 
We are proud to present our new pickleball courts at HMSRC. Join the excitement by signing up for Pickleball 101 to learn more about the hottest sport sweeping the USA!! You do not need to know anything about pickleball! Members and Guests are welcome to join the fun!

Courts are reserved for Members only or for groups where Members are 50% or more ratio. Private or Group instruction separate from camps or sessions should be made by an HMSRC Member through the portal.

Coaching Opportunities:
Lessons: With coach Alan Graves or with coach Griffin Graves.
Private: (1 player): $80 per hour for coach Alan Graves and $70 per hour for coach Griffin Graves. 
Semi Private: (2 players) $42 per player per hour.
Group lesson: (3 players) $30 each. (4 players or more) $25 each. 

Coach Info: 
Teaching Staff will consist of coach Alan Graves and coach Griffin Graves. Coach Alan is a USPTA/USPTR/PPR certified tennis and pickleball professional. In over 45 years of teaching tennis, coach Alan has successfully instructed and mentored many nationally & sectionally-ranked tennis players. In his youth as a competitor, coach Alan was a veteran of several Professional Tennis Satellite circuits as well as a past Virginia State Tennis  Champion. Alan’s coaching style is defined by his unyielding commitment to sharing his life passion with as many people as possible, regardless of age, aptitude or level of play. With coach Alan it is always about sharing the fun!

Professional Griffin Graves, who has a Masters degree in Education, currently a Tennis Coach at Lake Braddock High School and formerly played Collegiate Tennis all 4 years at Virginia Wesleyan University.
