The Generator prides itself on being a fully inclusive space available for all.

To ensure inclusivity across all members, we offer limited work exchange positions each year to qualified members. The Genny Crew commits to providing volunteer support to the Generator in unique ways. All members of The Genny Crew receive a monthly membership at no cost, as well as other benefits throughout the year.

Positions are posted as needed throughout the year.  Some positions require additional application process.

Crew Policies:

Monthly Standard Memberships give Crew members access to the Generator during open hours each month. Shop Stewards, and other approved positions, may receive additional benefits such as access to the space outside of open hours, dedicated studio space, or other benefits that support these specialized positions. Benefits are approved by Generator staff.

The crew is evaluated each month by Generator staff. Crew members who do not fulfill their required hours in a month may lose their crew benefit at any time.

Length of the position is determined by the position duties and agreed upon by both the crew member and a Generator staff member before the position begins.

Duties: Crew members are expected to help maintain the mission of The Generator and support the safety and cleanliness of the space. Crew members must abide by all published policies and safety regulations at the Generator. Make sure you read the Member Handbook!

Cleanliness: Dust, dirt and debris abound and we ask that every member contributes to the cleanliness on site as part of your civic responsibility. To make a safe and welcoming environment, all of the common areas need to be kept clean and stocked. You cannot leave projects behind in common spaces unless you have previously arranged this with a Staff member.

Safety: This is an active construction zone! If you are endangering yourself or others and/or using drugs/alcohol in the space in an unsafe or illegal way, the Staff reserves the right to terminate your membership.

Members cannot work on any mechanical parts of a vehicle within the building and no work of any kind is allowed outside of the building unless previously approved by a Staff member.

There are no overnight stays allowed. If there is evidence of you staying overnight within the facility, the Staff reserve the right to terminate your membership immediately.
