Camp Description

ELIGIBILITY
Athletes must be a registered member of South Carolina Swimming & USA Swimming. Athletes must represent an ethnically under-represented population that is less than 20% of the current USA Swimming membership to be eligible for this camp.

Athletes must have achieved at least one “B” time standard or have competed in at least three (3) USA Swimming sanctioned competitions.

Medical release forms will be given to all selected camp members immediately following selection.

Activities will involve two in-water sessions, educational sessions including a discussion about athlete nutrition and an opportunity for parents to learn about officiating, in addition to learning opportunities from guest speakers.

Thanks to our partnership with North Carolina Swimming and the University of South Carolina, South Carolina Swimming is able to present this opportunity to our athletes at no cost.

I agree to allow my child to participate in the 2022 Diversity Select Camp on April 9, 2022. I further agree to release from all liability USA Swimming, Inc., South Carolina Swimming, the event organizers, staff, manager, chaperones, and facility host for any and all injuries suffered by my child during the camp. I understand that if my child violates the South Carolina Swimming Code of Conduct while participating that he or she can be dismissed immediately from the camp and that I am responsible for providing my child with transportation to and from the Diversity Select Camp activities. Further I authorize medical personnel to treat my child should an emergency arise and medical care be needed.

The possession or use of alcohol, tobacco products or any non-prescribed drugs is prohibited.

All swimmers will be required to attend all Camp meetings, training sessions and events unless excused by the coaching staff.

Any physical damage to the facility will be paid for by those individuals assigned in which the damage or loss occurs.

Camp members will refrain from all illegal or inappropriate behavior that would detract from a positive image of the team or be detrimental to its performance objectives.

Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated, including but not limited to, the following: Any act considered to be an offense under federal, state, or local laws. Gross misconduct (i.e. inappropriate horseplay, theft, fighting, etc.). Willful destruction of property (including that caused by horseplay, fighting, etc.).

Camp members will display proper respect and sportsmanship toward coaches, chaperones, officials, administrators, fellow competitors and the public.

Camp members will adhere to any other restrictions and rules set forth by the coaching staff and chaperones and facilities that Camp Members will be using.

All swimmers must always stay within the camp facilities. Leaving the premises is not permitted.
