Practicum Information
The GO ED. Semester Study Abroad Program includes a four-week field practicum designed to give students an in-depth experience in a developing country. This section fulfills Steps 1 and 2 of a three-step process. (Go to About Practicum on the student page for an explanation of the full process.) All fields are required.
Step 1 - The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a call to action, to meet the needs of the world's poorest people. (See https://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/?menu=1300 for background information). Please indicate which of the goals interests you the most (choose between 1 or 3).
Required
Write a brief statement (200 words or fewer) outlining why your chosen SDGs interest you, how it applies to your academic major, and what experiences have contributed to your interest in that goal.
Note: You may want to write the essay off-line, then cut and paste it into the space provided here.
Your answer
Step 2 - Skills Please help our GO ED. field staff match you to available practicum options by indicating what skills you already have or are developing. You may check as many as apply to you.
Required
Step 3 - Practicum Fair
Upon acceptance into the program - and after arriving in your host country - you will be presented with available opportunities for practicum placement; from these you select three (3) options and submit your CV and learning objective for each.
