Youth Law Academy Application 2019
Thank you for your interest in the Youth Law Academy! The Youth Law Academy serves Oakland students to help them gain a better understanding of the U.S. legal system, college entrance requirements, careers in Law, and civic responsibility. The Youth Law Academy is designed to motivate students and enhance the academic skills necessary for success throughout high school and beyond. Students learn about exciting topics in ethic studies and even conduct a mock trial. There is no cost to participate in the Youth Law Academy!

The Deadline is Friday April 26th at 6pm.

CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION:

1). Candidates must be a Freshman at the time of applying. The Program begins in the Fall of their 10th or 11th grade grade year (Fall 2019-2020 academic school year);

2). Currently attending an Oakland High School AND currently an Oakland Resident;

3). Candidate must know that he/she will be going to college upon high school graduation;

4) Candidate must be self-initiated and committed to completing program requirements.

The Youth Law Academy requires students to attend educational and leadership seminars throughout the academic school year. In addition, students will also attend the annual Swear-In Ceremony. Admitted students are expected to abide by program rules at all times. Program rules are outlined in our Student Handbook, which will be given to all new students. *
