Board Application: Girls on Boards
Organization's Information
We are looking for not-for-profit / charitable Boards that are based in Canada who see the benefit of including a young woman (aged 18-25), on their Board for a term of at least one year. Boards will be asked to provide a key contact who will “mentor” the participant. This would involve “on boarding” her so she is familiar with other Board members and protocol issues, speak wither her before each meeting to answer any questions she may have, sit beside her and ensure she is comfortable during the meeting and debrief after the meeting.
Research shows that Boards across Canada are more aware and interested in expanding their knowledge regarding diversity and inclusion. To this end, for your participation in this program we are pleased to offer your Board a training session, which will provide gender based analysis knowledge, at no cost. We hope this training will assist you with your policy making and community work. Training will be 3 hours in length and will be delivered in person and/or digitally.

Before we match a young woman to your Board for your consideration, they will complete the DiverseCity onBoards program at Ryerson University’s G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education and will have access to a coach so we can guarantee a trained, vetted and well matched participant for your Board.
