London, once the world’s largest city, is the capital city of England. Visitors to this cosmopolitan city, where over 300 languages are spoken, are able to see a wide range of tourist attractions, such as the London Eye, Buckingham Palace and St Paul’s Cathedral.
Unlike its neighbour, Milton Keynes, London is not a planned city. People have been living there for hundreds of years. Its streets spread out in random directions, with beautiful historical buildings next to shiny new modern architecture. Additionally, London is one of the four fashion capitals of the world, along with New York, Paris and Milan. Designers and models hoping to become successful move to London to take part in its many fashion shows. Many will succeed and will sell their clothes in some of the city’s trendy designer boutiques. London is also home to many other cultural events, such as music festivals and contemporary art exhibitions, where some of the world’s most talented painters, sculptors and curators display their work.
