USDA Secretary of Agriculture, Sonny Perdue, has just announced in a press conference the USDA will extend the waiver flexibility to allow schools to participate in the summer nutrition program through December 31, 2020, allowing EVERY CHILD to receive meals at NO COST.

What does this mean?
All children 18 yrs. or younger may continue receiving meals* at no cost! Also, households will no longer have to request meals for children in their household**.

*These meals are for children only and we ask that community members only pick up meals for children and not for adult consumption.

**Starting the week of Sept. 14 meals will be free and available to all students in attendance without ordering. Households will have to order meal kits to be sent home which include 3 breakfasts and 3 lunches for elementary and middle school households. High school and virtual school households will order meal kits that include 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches. These meals kits are only for days students are not physically in school. Students attending school will receive meals at no cost and will be allowed to purchase a la carte snack and beverage items for an additional cost, if desired.
