Let’s Hike T.O. is a non-profit, volunteer run hiking community open to everyone with a focus on engaging people of colour, newcomers and young adults. Everyone is welcome to attend our hikes regardless of how they identify.

We are currently recruiting for a Volunteer Board Chair member for the remainder of 2026 through October 2027 (specific to the role(s) listed below).

Let’s Hike T.O. is committed to diversifying the hiking community through easy access to safe and enjoyable hikes for anyone interested in hiking, with a particular focus of intentionally engaging people of colour, newcomers and young adults.

We make a special effort to include people of colour, newcomers and young adults in our hikes as these are groups we have observed are often excluded from local hiking groups.

Can you tell us how you would display values of equity and diversity in the role(s) you are applying for?

Please confirm below that if you are offered the role that you can commit to the following: *

Attending an in-person half day of board training in Fall 2026 (exact time and location is TBD but typically downtown Toronto)

Dedicating 3+ hours/week + 1.5 hour of monthly virtual board meeting

Volunteering in the role term until October 2027 - with the option to continue

Reading the Let’s Hike T.O. Hike Leader’s Guide to understand how we lead our events

Please confirm below that you understand that all board members hold the following duties and if you are offered the role that you can commit to the following: *

Assist in strategic oversight of the organization and its financial condition

Prepare for and actively participate in all meetings

Attend all board meetings, with a maximum of two absences per year missed with advance notice

Attend at least 02 Volunteer Appreciation Events and 02 hikes a year (usually within the city of Toronto)
