University of Leeds workers' pledge

We, workers at the University of Leeds, pledge to stand in solidarity with Palestinians and act for an end to Israeli occupation, apartheid, ethnic cleansing and genocide in Palestine by:

1. Refusing to participate in any formal or informal engagement with any Israeli higher education institution involved in supporting Israeli occupation, apartheid, ethnic cleansing or genocide in Palestine

2. Refusing to participate in any formal or informal engagement with any corporation involved in supporting Israeli occupation, apartheid, ethnic cleansing or genocide in Palestine.

3. Working to provide direct support for Palestinian higher education institutions, academics, educators and students.

4. Speaking out against all attempts to silence Palestine solidarity action and speech on our campus and beyond.

5. Standing in solidarity with the University of Leeds student action* on campus and calling on the University to meet the student encampment’s demands, taking inspiration from the management of Goldsmiths University of London. We call on the University’s senior management to preserve students’ right to protest without threat of violence, fear, or disciplinary action.

*Note that and earlier version of the pledge referred to student encampment.
