This year, we’ll be going to the Boston College Library on March 20, 2018 from 6:30 – 7:30pm.
We’ll be looking at how to use coding skills in the digital humanities by hearing from several librarians about text encoding, text analysis, and visualizations.
All Newton GWC students are invited to attend, both the Tuesday and Friday sections. Be sure to wear your new GWC t-shirts if you can!
The visit will take place at the O’Neill Library, 140 Commonwealth Avenue, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467. We will meet just outside Maloney Hall at 21 Campanella Way at 6:30 so that parents do not have to pay $25 to park. There is also limited free street parking available on Commonwealth Ave., just outside of the main campus. GWC leaders will lead the attendees up to the Digital Studio, located on the second floor of O’Neill Library. We will return to the same pick-up location between 7:30 and 7:45.
Parents are responsible for getting coders to and from the venue. We encourage you to coordinate carpooling using our mailing lists: email@example.com. O’Neill Library and Maloney Hall are also about a 5-10 minute walk from the Boston College stop on the B line.
Please let us know whether you plan to attend the trip, if you have any food allergies, and if you consent to having your photo posted on the BC blog by filling out this survey:
