Public Lecture on "Machine Learning (ML) for Small and Big Data Analytics in Healthcare and Manufacturing"
Artificial intelligence (AI), and more specifically machine learning (ML), is already enabling a wave of innovation across many economic sectors by offering massive gains in processing vast amounts of data more efficiently and enhancing the performance of most or all industry sectors. With the advent of digital technologies, the amount of data generated and collected on a daily basis has increased tremendously. However, acquiring and accumulating data is of less value unless effective and efficient methods and tools are used to process and interpret the collected data to bring major social and economic benefits to our nation.
The Academy of Sciences Malaysia’s (ASM) Special Interest Group on Machine Learning (SIGML) and Collaborative Research in Engineering, Science and Technology (CREST) will be organising a public lecture by Professor Lim Chee Peng, Professor of Complex Systems from the Deakin University, Australia on “Machine Learning for Small and Big Data Analytics in Healthcare and Manufacturing”. In this public lecture, the speaker will share his experience in designing and developing ML models, primarily neural, fuzzy, and evolutionary models as well as elucidate the capability of ML in extracting useful information and knowledge from small to big data for decision analytics. Applicability of ML to real-world medical and manufacturing problems will be demonstrated.
