Use this form to sign up for any or the following free wellness workshops and opportunities offered by Student Services at MIIS:

November 12: Stress Management for Grad Students Workshop - 12:15-1:30pm
While stress is a natural aspect of life, each one of us is experiencing various new and different stressors, making it more important than ever to develop a toolbox of resources to manage stress and cultivate peace and wellbeing. In this workshop, you’ll learn about stress and self-care, gain a sense of connection to other students who are with you on this journey, have an opportunity to try a few mindfulness practices, and walk away with new resources and tips to weave into your own daily schedule.

October 1: Intro to Mindfulness Workshop (12:15-1:30pm Pacific) + 7 day Asynchronous Challenge (self-guided in MIcommunity)
Mindfulness is being aware in the present moment in a way that is curious and compassionate. This way of being helps us bring our full presence and acceptance to ourselves, others, and our circumstances… which in turn, helps us feel more balanced and calm. This one-hour workshop will offer an introduction to mindfulness, and to begin or deepen your own practice of mindfulness, we follow it up with seven days of guided meditation! These short meditations and brief reflections are designed to fit into your busy life.

The workshop will take place via Zoom, and the 7-Day self-guided challenge: 'Start Your Meditation Practice' will be hosted in a special group in MICommunity. If your schedule allows you to participate in both, this pairing of workshop and practice will give you the foundation and tools to continue building accessible and sustainable habits to support you.
