This 5 week session will cover the following topics:

Preterm labor, Stages of labor , Building a support team, Breastfeeding, Option vs protocol in birth settings, Self advocacy/brain, The Placenta, Coping in labor, Non-medical pain management, Medical pain management, Postpartum self-care/plan, Caring for your newborn in the early days, Normal vs not normal.

These groups have been specifically designed by Kindred Birth Companion Doulas at SisterWeb to support Black-identifying mothers looking to learn and build community around pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. This is a safe space where we will share stories, experiences, and learn together. There will always be a KBC Doula present to answer questions and present on topics

The dates are as follow :

Via zoom:May 31, 2023, June 14, 2023, June 28, 2023, July 19, 2023

In person: August 2,2023

Back up dates(these are in the event a session gets canceled due to birth emergencies): June 5, 2023 , June 20, 2023, July 10, 2023 ,July 24, 2023
