ypsiGLOW Artist Proposal Form
2017 THEME (optional): Take Flight

Two ways to participate in ypsiGLOW:
1. Art piece/performance during event
- Artists and performers receive mini grants to create a performance or art piece that will be activated during the event (October 27th)
- Grant amount depends on your proposal (below)
- This can be a giant glowing mobile sculpture, interactive installation, window projections, live painting, dance performance, etc.
- Think big, unique, and GLOW

2. Window installation/ mural as early as two weeks before event
- Artists receive a $300 grant to illuminate a downtown storefront
- Starting mid-October, local artists activate downtown windows with murals and installations
- Artists are encouraged to see these storefronts as canvases or stages for them to create upon
- There will be an artist shoutout in each window that credits you/ your group. The sooner you activate your window, the longer your project will have exposure and create a sense of vibrancy in downtown
- You are also encouraged to create a static window that becomes activated the night of the event. For example, creating an installation that comes to life with a performance artist the night of the event (if you are a performance group interested in this, please indicate below and we may be able to connect you with a visual artist).

Dream BIG. Make Ypsi GLOW.
We are here to provide the funding and platform for you to share your vision with the community.

It can be performance art, visual art, sonic/music, dance... in other words, anything creative that inspires and engages light, reflection, fluorescence, and GLOW (figuratively or literally).

How will your project be impactful/ interactive?
What do you need?
What resources do you need to bring your vision to life: indoor/outdoor space, lead time, electricity, materials, community involvement, etc.
Concept Sketch
Please attach a sketch of your project vision (if you are a performance group, you can skip this section)
Please provide a brief list of project expenses. There will be a reimbursement of up to $150 in supplies after your project is finished. You will need to submit receipts after the event to receive this reimbursement. Please take into consideration the cost of materials, transportation, installation, teardown, etc.

Grant Award Amounts:
Up to $300 for Windows ($450 maximum including supply reimbursement)
Up to $500 for Day-of Project ($650 maximum including supply reimbursement)
If your project expenses (including your time) exceeds the award limit, please contact us. We have limited funds but we want you to dream BIG.
Please specify project amount in budget

We strongly recommend going to the event site (N Washington St between Pearl and Michigan Ave) to look at windows well suited for your project. Please list any windows you prefer and we will take that into consideration when assigning them. This does not mean you are guaranteed your window preference.
