Are you looking for ways to get more involved in IHHC? Do you want to connect with colleagues from across the State? Do you want to be “in the know” and a “go to resource” for staff in your agency? IHHC Committees are a great way to become an active participant in IHHC! The time commitment is minimal-- most committees meet for one-hour via conference call or Zoom once per month, and members communicate via email to work on committee projects. IHHC currently offers the following Committees:
BILLING COMMITTEEThe Billing Work Group identifies and works through challenges facing billers related to reimbursement from Medicare, Medicaid, and private plans. Creates best practices and tip sheets for the IHHC membership.
BEST PRACTICES COMMITTEE
The Best Practices Committee tackles a specific issue and sees it to fruition in tip sheets, benchmarking or standard setting. An example is the work on standards and benchmarks for CAUTI Prevention in the home setting.
EDUCATION COMMITTEE
Advises the Council on education program topics for the year. Selects Annual Conference topics and speakers, and provides input on schedule and exhibits.
FINANCE COMMITTEE
Advises the Council on finances, investments, taxes and audits.
HOME SERVICES WORK GROUP - *New*
This work group will work toward suggesting education and information that agencies with home services licensure will need.
HOSPICE COMMITTEE
Provides education and resources to Hospice providers.
LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
Advises the Council on legislative positions and generates member involvement on State and federal legislation. Recommends IHHC's Annual Legislative Priorities and Legislator(s) of the Year. Assists in planning IHHC's Lobby Day.
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE - * Revamped!
The membership committee analyzes benefits offered to members and proposes new and pertinent services. The membership committee focuses on member engagement, recruitment, and retention. .
NURSE DELEGATION WORK GROUP
Explores ways in which nursing duties could be safely delegated to alleviate workforce shortages. Engages with state agencies and stakeholders to establish rules and protocols.
PRIVATE DUTY NURSING COMMITTEE
Provides advice and expertise to the Council regarding services and benefits that can be offered to private duty members. Plans a yearly Private Duty Symposium. Promoters the interests of member agencies that hold home nursing licensure.
REGULATORY & REIMBURSEMENT COMMITTEE
Provides recommendations and drafts IHHC regulatory position papers, comment letters, and other documents. Works with the IDPH Home Health Advisory Committee and the PGBA 16-State Home Health Coalition.
REHAB COMMITTEE
This group plans a yearly rehab symposium, creates toolkits and resources to help in operations and care delivery, and works to educate members and the public on the benefits of rehab.
SOCIAL WORK COMMITTEE - *NEW*
The new Social Work Committee plans to elevate Social Work in the home care setting by collaborating with peers, sharing best practices, and setting actionable goals for the committee's work. They will meet monthly.
