Verification of Externship Responsibilities
In applying for a Loyola College of Law externship, I, understand and agree to the following:
If I accept an externship placement, I may not subsequently decline that externship placement unless authorized.
My externship may not compensate me in any way.
I understand the Externship Program does not place students in for-profit settings.
The externship experience is academically rigorous and requires a certain number of field hours, time sheets, class attendance, journals and a final written portfolio.
Once accepted and enrolled, I am responsible for all of the externship class requirements.
By submitting this application, I agree to check my email regularly and respond to any externship-related communication within 24 hours.
Do you have any prior arrests, convictions, or other criminal history that could appear on a federal criminal background check?
All students offered a tentative placement with federal judges must undergo a federal background check. Criminal history will not necessarily bar a student from consideration or placement. However, the judges have requested disclosure at this stage of the application process. Students who fail to disclose at this stage of the application will not be placed.
