Your event must advance the mission of the UCIMC to be considered for co-sponsorship.
The Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center’s mission is to foster the creation and distribution of media and art that emphasizes underrepresented voices and perspectives, and to promote empowerment and expression through media and arts education. To that end we operate a Community Media and Arts Center.
You must be a member of the UCIMC to request a co-sponsorship with UCIMC.
Individual Member: $50 per year / $25 per year low income / or 5 hours of sweat equity
Organization Member: $100 per year
Sustaining Funder
Co-Sponsored Event Hosts must take responsibility for:- Creating all publicity materials including social media and print materials
- Including the UCIMC logo and IL Arts Council Logo on any promotional materials
- Announcing the co-sponsorship at the event with the following statement: "This event is cosponsored by the Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center. The UCIMC is supported in part by the Illinois Arts Council and by our membership. Please consider supporting the IMC by becoming a member or giving a donation."
- Arranging to get training on the A/V equipment, if it will be used
- Setting up and cleaning up the space, including chairs and tables
- Returning the space to the condition in which you found it including taking out the garbage, recycling,
- and sweeping or mopping the floor as needed.
- Upon request, submitting a security plan, particularly for events over 40 people
