BCHA Board of Directors Application
Thank you for your interest in the BCHA's Board of Directors.  As the governing body of our institution, Board members make critical decisions to support the mission of the BCHA and ensure the History Center at Courthouse Square continues to be a place of exploration of self and past.

To begin, please fill out the form below.  Once submitted, please email a copy of your resume to Executive Director Rhiannon Cizon at rcizon@berrienhistory.org.  From there the process will move to the next step.

Responsibilities:
• Commits to protecting the reputation, integrity and sustainability of the BCHA

• Makes a serious commitment to participate actively in Board work

• Gets to know other committee members and builds collegial working relationship that contributes to consensus

• Attends major events for the museum such as Farmapalooza, Annual Member Meeting, and more

• Volunteers for major events at the museum, including but not limited to Youth Fair Week, Pickle Festival, and Kindle Your Christmas Spirit

• Prioritizes the BCHA in their charitable giving
 
•Becomes a member of the BCHA
 

Expected participation:

• Organizational leadership and advisement

• Legal guidance and responsibility

• Financial management, including creation, adoption, and oversight of the annual budget

• Oversight of program planning and evaluation

• Formulation and oversight of policies and procedures

• Evaluation of the Executive Director

• Fundraising and outreach

• Promotion of the organization
