Payne PTSA Volunteer Opportunities
Payne is fortunate to be supported by staff, parents and community members that offer their time and abilities. We encourage each family to contribute at Payne in some way by volunteering for one of the tasks below. Our goal is to 1) match volunteer tasks with interests and time availability, 2) promote community and parent involvement and 3) distribute the workload.
Please look below and check off if you would want to help out in one (or more!) of the areas needed!

Do you know how to "get it done"?
Raise Money! (Organize big events like the Fall Festival, Spring Auction, Movie Nights, Bake Sales)
Identify and set up field trips
Help with school wide events (Book Fair, Science Fair, etc)
Promote Payne's Involvement at Hill wide events (Hilloween, School Information Night, Bike to School)
Attend city-wide or hill-wide meetings on behalf of the Payne PTA as an advocate (CHPSO, PAVE, DCPS, etc)
Are you connected?
Research grant opportunities and or potential corporate partners
Seek donations through organizations such as Donors Choose
Research academic and enrichment opportunities for Payne
Are you a communicator?
Update the Payne PTSA website and volunteer portal
Help with email and social media communication
Can you help out during the school day or after school programs?
Lead an afterschool club
Help tutor math, reading or technology in the classroom
Help during recess time
Do you like to give back to your community?
Attend or lead Open House Tours for incoming parents
Coordinate Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week in May
Prepare food for periodic teacher appreciation breakfasts
