Join D.E.I. for Mentor Text Mondays!
Hello colleagues! We hope you are healthy and well during the start of this extraordinary school year.
We are very excited to offer a series of Zoom webinars with D.E.I. Director, Sarah Cordova, where she will be sharing her new favorite mentor texts each month. Each months' selections will take into consideration the season, genres typically studied during each month, social justice, and social emotional learning.
All sessions will be geared towards Pre K-6 students. We invite administrators, classroom teachers, reading specialists, literacy coaches, and college students to join us and learn about the most engaging and powerful mentor texts
The five Fall/Winter sessions will take place on the following Mondays:
Monday, October 19, 2020- Special Guest, Author/Illustrator, Corinna Luyken
Monday, November 16, 2020- Special Guest, Author/Poet, Charles Waters
Monday, December 14, 2020- Special Guest, Author/Poet, Kristine O'Connell George
Monday, January 11, 2021- Special Guest, Author/Poet, Amy Ludwig VanDerwater
Monday, February 8, 2021- Special Guest, Author, Laura Vaccaro Seeger
All sessions will run from 8:00 PM- 9:30 PM each Monday, Eastern Standard Time.
The cost for all five Monday sessions is $65. Regardless if you can attend all of the sessions, the price remains the same.
