Application for the Care and Use of Animals for Educational Purposes in ACT Schools
This form is designed to assist you in applying to the ACT Schools Animal Ethics Committee for animal holdings as part of your educational programs. Should you have any questions or require assistance in completing the form please email ACTSAEC@act.gov.au and an ESO team member will be happy to assist.

Prior to commencing your application please consider the following:

- If you are looking to acquire a native animal, please refer to the NCL Exemptions List. If the animal is not listed on this document, you will need to apply for a Nature Conservation License prior to applying to the ACT SAEC for acquisition of the animal. You can find further information on how to do this within the procedures.

- The ACT Schools Animal Ethics Committee has an obligation to ensure the Code of Practice and all relevant legislation is being met in schools. As such, the committee could visit your school at any time to observe practice, housing, and animal care records.
