Volunteer as a WABA Ride Marshal!

This year, WABA is partnering with the League of American Bicyclists, the national advocacy bike non-profit, to help out with the National Bike Summit Mobile Workshops.

These Mobile Workshops offer Bike Summit attendees a unique opportunity to visit some of the Washington D.C. area’s most bicycle-friendly places by bike. Attendees and volunteers will get an exclusive look at how local leaders are supporting and promoting bicycling.

WABA is helping to recruit volunteer ride marshals for the Mobile Workshops. Volunteers will help lead riders from the National Bike Summit conference at the Renaissance Hotel in Downtown DC to workshop locations around the District, then back to the conference. Volunteers need to be experienced at urban bicycling and confident leading groups on bike. They also must wear a helmet and commit to following all traffic laws.

**Mobile Workshop Details**:
All workshops will take place on Monday, March 6th and Tuesday, March 7th from 9:30am-noon. Marshals should meet the group at the Renaissance Hotel (999 9th St. NW, Washington, DC) at 9:30am.

Mobile workshop ride marshals are required to participate in a brief conference call on Thursday, February 16th, 2017 from 10am-11am with Alison Dewey from the League of American Bicyclists.

Volunteers will get to attend the mobile workshop for free in exchange for volunteering. Volunteers can also attend conference sessions at the National Bike Summit for free. After you are confirmed to volunteer, WABA will send you a code to register for the National Bike Summit at no cost.
