2021 SCOE Summer Institute | Registration
DEADLINE TO REGISTER: June 25, 2021
RECONNECT, REJUVENATE, REIMAGINE
Over the past 9 years, the Sonoma County Office of Education has hosted a teaching and learning summer institute to allow school and district teams to think deeply about transforming learning experiences for students. To prepare for the 2021-22 academic year, SCOE will once again offer a virtual learning institute for teachers, counselors, administrators and paraprofessional to reconnect, rejuvenate, and reimagine what's necessary and possible for TK-12 education.
This year’s institute will be conducted virtually on July 27th-29th. There is no cost to participate, and stipends will be made available to Sonoma County teachers and counselors who choose to engage in post-Institute collaboration and implementation. While it is not required, we strongly encourage attendees to participate in the Institute as part of a school or district team so that you can get the added benefit of a shared learning experience.
We sincerely hope that you and your colleagues will make plans to join us for the 2021 Institute. To submit your registration, please complete the form below by June 25, 2021.

Briefly describe your primary motivation for attending the 2021 Summer Institute. In other words, what would you like to be able to do during the 2021-22 academic year as a result of your participation? (300 words or less)
Which of the following topics would you most want to engage in discussion with other Institute attendees about? (Please select no more than 2.)
How might we address learning needs and SEL in an integrated fashion?
How might we address the mental and emotional well-being of educators so that they can support the needs of their students?
How might we address the inequities in our systems that existed before, during, and after the pandemic?
How might we help students "reconnect" to school after the challenges of the past year+?
How might we capture the lessons learned during the pandemic and make sure they are incorporated into our plans going forward?
How might we effectively address the changed learning trajectory of students caused by the disruption of the past year+?
I have informed my school and/or district administrator(s) that I plan to participate in the 2021 SCOE Summer Institute. Please feel free to include my administrator(s) in future updates and communication about the institute.
Stipend Commitment: Stipends will be made available to Sonoma County teachers and counselors who choose to engage in collaboration and implementation post-Institute. Teachers and counselors may choose from several options to receive a stipend post-Institute such as documenting classroom implementation to be shared with others, extended contract time for collaborating with colleagues, or submitting a mini-grant proposal for instructional supplies. Please indicate your preference on stipend participation below.
I will only be attending the Institute but am not interested in pursuing the stipend.
I plan to attend the Institute AND engage in post-Institute work to receive the stipend.
