MCLA Gallery 51 is pleased to announce an opportunity for alumni* to exhibit their work in a group exhibition highlighting their creative pursuits since leaving MCLA. It is a unique chance for the college to present the work of our alumni in our downtown gallery, highlighting the impact of an innovative liberal arts education and MCLA’s Alumni’s contribution to vibrant creative communities in North Adams and beyond.
*Alumni include all persons holding degrees from MCLA (or NASC) and all those who have successfully completed at least 12 credit hours in a degree program of the college.
Artists Eligible:- Alumni of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (any major)
Artwork Eligible: everyone submitting will get at least one piece in the show• Work must have been created in the last five years• Work can not have been already exhibited at Gallery 51• Original work in any medium including video• All two-dimensional work most be ready to hang, framed or something attached for hanging• Two-dimensional work is limited to a maximum size of 6’ x 6’ or pre approved for any size larger• 3D work should be no larger than 50” x 40” x 40” if placed on the floor, small or moderate sized 3D work should fit on pedestals • Each graduate may submit up to 3 pieces for consideration • Final selection of works for the exhibition will be decided by Gallery 51 curator Arthur De Bow and Berkshire Cultural Resource Center Director Michelle Daly. We will let you know by March 1 which piece or pieces have been selected for the show.
