ACT-W Portland Volunteer Form
ACT-W conferences run on the energy of our volunteers. The ACT-W Conference is an annual action-packed event where talented women, non-binary people, and allies can build skills, grow their community, and accelerate their career path in tech. The conference includes speaking sessions, hands-on workshops, one-on-one coaching sessions, a career fair, and more! This year, Portland's local ACT-W conference is joined by ACT-W National's Achieving Equity Summit, a boutique event that provides action-oriented training and deep discussions to level up diversity initiatives. The Achieving Equity Summit will take place from June 26-27 and will be followed by the local Portland ACT-W Conference on June 28-29.

As a volunteer, you’ll be a vital part of the conference and help to create a welcoming and outstanding conference experience for 600 participants from the Portland Area. The volunteer experience is a unique opportunity to participate in the conference activities. Volunteers will be responsible for various conference duties such as staffing the registration/information booth, crowd management, assisting speakers and workshop instructors, and communicating information about the conference.

Volunteers should be able to commit to an orientation session on the evening of Monday, June 24 (location TBD, but likely ChickTech's downtown office) and at least one volunteer shift during the conference. People of all genders are welcome to volunteer.

Volunteers for the ACT-W conference (June 28-29) will receive a free ticket to the remainder of that conference. Volunteers for the Equity Summit (June 26-27) will receive a free ticket to the remainder of that day of the conference, as well as a discounted ticket to the local ACT-W conference.

We will be accepting volunteer applications until June 1, or until all volunteer shifts are filled.

Dates: June 26-29, 2019
Location: Portland State University, Smith Memorial Student Union
