Positon: Girls Rock Denver After School Program Site Director
Stipend: $1,200
Work Schedule: Tuesday - Thursday 3:15 p.m. - 6:15 p.m.
October 1, 2019 - November 21, 2019 (additional meeting dates may also be required)

Job Summary
The Site Director will provide a safe, nurturing, and well-supervised after-school program. The Site Director will be responsible for maintaining the coordination, implementation, and administration of all Girls Rock: After School programs. The specific duties of the Site Director include supervision of instrument instruction, program participant safety, care & maintenance of instruments/equipment, preparation of needed materials and supplies, communication with participant families, communication with instructors, communication with school administration, and communication with Girls Rock Denver directors. The Site Director will be the liaison with parents, school administration, staff, volunteers, and visitors to represent the site and the program in a positive manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop rapport and build relationships with participants, staff, volunteers, and families

Communicates with parents, school administration, and Girls Rock Denver directors on a regular basis regarding program activities

Determine and implement fun, engaging, developmentally appropriate activities as needed

Track and report participant and volunteer/staff attendance to Girls Rock Denver directors

Ability to make programmatic changes based on immediate needs

Ability to clearly convey messages regarding organizational policies, procedures and changes

Ability to respond to participant behavioral and/or social emotional needs with a solutions oriented attitude

Maintain cleanliness in all program areas; including the upkeep of the equipment and facility in an acceptable manner and oversee the set-up and breakdown of instruments/equipment

Plan for and purchase healthy snack options for participants within provided budget

Ensure competent and well-paced instrument instruction

Provide instructional support as needed

Strong organizational and management skills

Knowledge of musical instruments and equipment

Knowledge of developmental needs of school age children

Attend Site Director meetings, collaboration meetings, management feedback meetings, and other meetings and trainings as required by Girls Rock Denver

Adhere to the school’s on-site safety expectations, and implement the safety plan at the site if needed

Immediately report and document any and all injuries or incidents to the school administration and Girls Rock Denver directors

Demonstrate reliability and punctuality by arriving on-time for scheduled shift and completing supervisory responsibilities in a timely and thorough manner

Maintain the highest degree of confidentiality in participant and volunteer/staff management matters

Possess reliable transportation to and from Program site

Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate sensitivity to others

Ability to frequently stand, walk, stoop, sit, crouch, bend, and move musical equipment

Ability to lift, carry, pull, or otherwise move objects between 10 and 20 pounds

Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with children, parents, and community members

Ability to manage and supervise large groups.
