Slack (www.slack.com) is a chat application used by businesses all over the world. It’s less formal than e-mailing, but more collaborative and group-friendly than texting. Here at Josephmark (www.josephmark.com.au), we all jump on Slack everyday to communicate and keep connected with our team. The topics range from work projects through to organising where we’ll eat lunch each day. Slack currently has 6 million daily users and is used by business like Google, AirBNB and NASA.
👉 Why do you need our PayPal details?
Chip facilitates payments between users and charities. The user donates directly from their personal PayPal account to yours. The function our app has on PayPal is to simply pre-populate the payment form with your details.
👉 What’s the catch?
There’s no catch! We aren’t looking for a profit in this venture, and definitely won’t be taking any cut of the funds being sent in your direction. Our team made Chip because 2017 has been a really tough year, and we wanted to do some good in the world. We want to make it easier for people in digital spaces to donate to your charity, so you can keep doing the wonderful work that you do.
👉 How does it work?
When a user is in Slack, they type in a special command to start a new fundraising event. From here the user simply selects a charity from the dropdown list, enters the time frame then their fundraising project is ready to go! After this, anyone in the team can add donations to the cause. Chip will keep track of how much everyone has donated, so the team can keep track of how much has been raised.
