TAP-DC Board Application Form
Being a TAP-DC board member is a challenging and rewarding experience. As a leader of our community of Taiwanese, Taiwanese Americans and friends, you will guide a team of intelligent, passionate and dedicated individuals in fulfilling our mission to promote Leadership, Identity, Networking and Citizenship (LINC). You will also become part of a tight-knit network of TAP leaders in chapters across the United States, gaining the opportunity network and build leadership skills with some of the brightest in the nation. And you will discover friendships and connections that last well beyond your term (this will definitely happen). We welcome you to become a leader of TAP-DC.

Each year, the TAP-DC board will go through a general election democratic process. Positions are elected by the incumbent TAP-DC board in good standing. As the active leaders of TAP-DC with present knowledge of the organization, TAP board members represent the best interests of the organization in electing the next year’s executive team. Positions are held by incumbents until the end of August and newly elected board members begin their term at the start of June, providing time for transition of roles and responsibilities.

To be listed on the ballot for election, you must declare your candidacy for one or more TAP positions. To do so involves:
1) Meeting with the incumbent TAP-DC leader(s), ideally those who have previously held the position(s) for which you are declaring candidacy to learn more details of the role.
2) Filling out and submit this application form by May 20th.
3) Preparing ideas that you want to bring to the role.

To be eligible for a board position, you must be (or will be) a resident of the DMV Area.

You can declare your candidacy for up to three (3) positions. Your name will be on the ballot for all the positions you declare, independent of each other. If you are not elected for the first position, then you will still be eligible for the second and third positions. Each position will be treated separately. The sequence will be: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Web/IT Guru, Strategic Marketing Chair, Professional Leadership Chair, Cultural Identity Chair, Social & Wellness Networking Chair, Community & Citizenship Chair, Mentor Edge Subcommittee Chair, and General board members.

REMINDER: APPLICATIONS ARE DUE MAY 20th 2017!
