About FIA Smart Cities
Sustainability planning at the Municipal level is an opportunity for cities to address in a more innovative, cost-effective way the challenges they are facing, and create a vision for the future they want to see in their city considering mobility and transport systems. The interdependence of transport, health and environment is undeniable, therefore, enhancement of sustainable mobility requires a set of coordinated actions that go beyond the transportation network.

The Smart City Initiative focuses on innovative urban mobility projects piloted around the world. Building on the unique platform of the in-city Formula-E Championship, the FIA Smart City brings together Formula-E, selected industry players, public authorities and mobility experts to share their knowledge about innovations in safe, connected and sustainable urban mobility.

In this context, the objective of the Smart City Awards is to hear cities’ stories of responding to their unique mobility needs both innovatively and sustainably. While there is no “one size fits all” method for designing sustainable mobility projects, the contest aims at highlighting best practices and scalable initiatives that can be shared along global axes of transportation.

Please visit the FIA Smart Cities page for further information:
