The APM Juniors, still in its infancy, exists to involve students and doctors in the Association of Palliative Medicine of Great Britain and Ireland at an early level in their career. If you're anywhere between 1st year undergrad and pre-ST3 junior doctor and have even a passing interest in the specialty of palliative medicine, then we're for you. We're working on a whole variety of ways to support junior members to gain useful experience to advance your careers (research, electives, mentorship etc.), and to interact and debate with each other and experts in the field at regular meetings and conferences. In fact - keep a look out for details of our inaugural conference coming up in the spring in Cambridge!
There are lots of exciting areas to get involved in, such as media, events and communication. We are also looking for people who would like to represent their medical school. These people will be a point of contact for other students in your school and will be responsible for sharing news and information. We're also keen to hear new ideas or suggestions that you might have for your local area.
If you're interested in being a rep or in finding out more about being a rep, fill in the appropriate question below. If you'd just like to let us know you're interested in the group, then just tick mailing list (don't worry, we won't spam you constantly!)
