ETV (Education and Training Voucher) funds are now available to help with costs related to student's success in their post-secondary education/vocation (PSE) program. Monies are supported through John H. Chafee grant which is a federally based funding source. As a result, youth who are immigrant/undocumented status are NOT eligible to receive assistance.

Students enrolled in a post secondary academic program can receive up to $5,000 per year for 5 years through their 26th birthday.

Tuition Balance/Fees- Youth enrolled in a pse program who have remaining tuition balance and/or other fees that exceed funding granted through their FAFSA award letter, can use ETV to supplement the remaining balance. Funds can only be used for current academic year balances. We can NOT backdate to pay prior years. This applies to tuition and other cost of attendance fees (i.e insurance premiums, commitment deposit fees) for Fall and Spring semesters, summer/winter break courses as well as GRAD SCHOOL tuition. Confirmation of FAFSA award must be provided.

Books/Supplies/Cost of attendance- Youth enrolled in a pse program who have identified course needs can access ETV to cover expenses. Examples of supplies and other costs of attendance items can be storage fees for personal items during school breaks, specialized tutoring in subject areas, supplemental text books costs, and equipment or software required for courses, etc.

PSE Laptops/Computers/Printers/Ipad- Youth who are enrolled in a PSE program can receive funds to purchase a computer/laptop/printer, etc. Youth are allowed 1 replacement device for the duration of their pse enrollment.

TRANSPORTATION- Youth enrolled in a pse program can access ETV for transportation assistance to get to and from school/classes. Transportation is limited and can cover up to one semester of assistance-thereafter, the young adult must have their own arrangements to attend classes regularly. Transportation costs such as Uber, Lyft, train, and bus vouchers are eligible can be accessed through ETV.

ADDITIONAL DRIVING HOURS- Youth who have successfully completed driver's education course but require additional hours of road practice before taking license exam, can access additional driving hours using ETV funds.

STUDY ABROAD- Youth enrolled in a pse program who would like to participate in academic related study abroad, can access ETV. Eligible study abroad costs such as travel, flights, course/tuition and housing fees can be covered under ETV.
