NABJLA Scholarship Award Application
All applicants must be African-American undergraduate students in good standing attending an accredited U.S. college or university. They must be students living in Southern California, or have a permanent residence in Southern California. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to journalism or a career in news media. Completed applications must be emailed no later than 11 p.m. December 1, 2018.

You will have all of the following to complete/submit, so make sure you have all of the below available for submission:
- Submit at least one letter of recommendation (in PDF form)
- Submit your most current official transcript
- Write an essay on the topic listed. Essays must be: typed, there's a 400 words maximum.
- Scholarship winners must attend at least two NABJLA meetings or events in 2019.

The NABJLA Scholarship Committee will interview and select all scholarship winners. Decisions of NABJLA are final. Applications and submitted/emailed materials will not be returned. Scholarship amounts will vary depending on the number of applicants and demonstrated financial need. Scholarships will be awarded in December 2018.
