The Environmental Politics and Governance Network provides a platform for scholars studying environmental issues to present research, exchange ideas, and collaborate. EPG organizes four events: (1)
the annual conference, (2)
biweekly online seminars, (3)
deep climate conversations, and (4)
careers/mentoring.
Use this form to express interest in being matched with a mentor during the 2024-25 academic year. The program is open to early-career scholars who are doctoral students or who have finished their PhD within the last five years.
During the program this year, you can be matched to a mentor in two ways:
One-time mentoring: if you are matched to a mentor, you will meet one time to seek advice or feedback. For example, you might use this session to get feedback on a paper, job market preparation, or publication strategy. There is no expectation that you will continue to interact as part of the program after this meeting.
Ongoing mentoring: if you are matched to a mentor, you will meet four times over the academic year to achieve your mutual mentoring goals. For example, you might use these sessions to get ongoing feedback on your research agenda, teaching program, or career development.
Mentors are members of the EPG steering committee who have agreed to participate in one of these mentoring programs. Depending on the level of interest, we may not be able to match every interested mentee to a mentor this academic year. Priority will be given to early-career scholars who have participated in EPG programs or activities in the past.
