Leadership for Change Academy

Towards further enforcement of (Change begins with me) slogan and their mutual vision of empowering young people, Junior Chamber International Lattakia in partnership with the Syrian Youth Council are pleased to host "Leadership for Change Academy" between August 1st and 4th to empower young leaders to become the next global changemakers.

This Training Academy will be led by the Portuguese international trainer Filipe Carrera.

The training package includes six modules:
1- Creating bridges among different people
2- Make yourself heard
3- Making the difference through Public speaking & Debate
4- Effective Leadership
5- Building intercultural understanding
6- Local solutions for global issues (global citizenship and sustainable development values)

-Please note that the academy's official language is English

Academy location & time:
The academy activities are basically taking place in Miramar Hotel, Lattakia. We’re going to be waiting for your arrival on Wednesday 1st of August before 18:00 EEST/ Local Time (UTC +3), and our program will be completed on Saturday 4th morning.

Participation fees:
National Participants (Inside Syria):
25.000 SYP for JCI members/ SYC volunteers
35.000 SYP for non-members

The participation fees include access to all of the training sessions, 3 dinner meals, two lunch meals, the training kit and transportation within the Academy.
- Please be aware that transportation costs from & to your place of residence is not included.

International Participants:
100.00 USD for JCI members
150.00 USD for non-members
The participation fees include access to all of the training sessions, 3 dinner meals, two lunch meals, the training kit and transportation from & to the Syrian/Lebanese borders or Damascus International Airport.

*Please note that the closest flight destination outside of Syria is Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport, Lebanon. Further transportation information within Lebanon "from Rafic Hariri airport to the Lebanese borders" will be provided and organized according to the time of participants' arrivals, knowing that the cost of it is the responsibility of the participant.

Miramar Hotel (The Academy's Venue) Fees:
National Participants: 19.000 SYP
International participants: 70.00 USD
The prices above are for a double room per night (and half the cost if you’re willing to share it with another participant)
- An additional entertainment program is available, and its details and fees will be sent upon acceptance.

In order to provide you with the best terms of residence and transportation, please note that you have to submit this application prior to July 15th if you're an international participant, and July 21st if you're a national participant.
In both cases, you'll receive an email two days after those deadlines, and in the case of acceptance, further information might be required for transportation & visa arrangement.

We will make sure to contact you by email whether your application is accepted or not, and payment methods will be provided then.

Accepted applications will be chosen regarding age, nationality, gender, expertise & academic level diversity.
