General Information
Mission: The mission of Grow Dat Youth Farm is to nurture a diverse group of young leaders through the meaningful work of growing food.

Application Process: After completing this application, you will receive a confirmation and interview time. We will follow up within 5 business days of receiving your application.


Interview Day: Interviews will be held December 1,2019 our farm site in City Park. We will call you with more details after your application is processed.

Hiring Goals & Dates: Grow Dat Youth Farm aims to employ up to approximately 60 youth workers from various schools across the New Orleans region; beginning on January 23, 2019 , and ending on June 29, 2019.

Time Commitment: In order to apply, participants MUST be able to commit to the entire program.
Participants MUST commit to working all of the following dates (excluding personal days)
(1) After-school: Wednesday or Thursday (4:30 pm – 6:30 pm)
(2) Every Saturday: (8:15 am – 3:15 pm)
(3) Summer Program in June: Wednesday – Saturday (8:15 am – 3:15 pm)

Transportation: Grow Dat Youth Farm provides transportation to and from specific pickup and drop off sites. However, your transportation to and from the drop off site is your responsibility. We determine which drop off spots are most beneficial for the majority of our youth employees.

Compensation: Crew members are paid $7.25 hourly with the possibility of a $15.00 bonus each pay period for training and working hours and have the opportunity to earn bonuses each pay period. Compensation details will be discussed individually with each hired applicant after the selection and interview process has concluded.

Work Permit: Youth under the age of 18 must obtain a work permit. A work permit may be obtained from the Job 1 Business and Career Solutions Center at 3400 Tulane Ave. Please reach out to Glenn Caston at 504.307.1200 or glenn@growdatyouthfarm.org if any further assistance is needed in obtaining a valid work permit.
