Our Peer Support Program provides support for self-identifying young women with any type of cancer diagnosis, at any stage of diagnosis and treatment. This program is designed for you to be paired with a peer mentor to feel supported while you navigate your cancer diagnosis.
Our Peer Supporters, like you, have heard the words 'you have cancer'. They know what it feels like to go through life at a young age while navigating cancer. They've learned how to support you through our peer support training and are in constant communication with our team to ensure the values of this program are maintained. Our Peer Supporters are here to provide confidential, non-judgmental and unbiased support to women from diverse backgrounds. They are simply here to listen and create a safe space for you to be heard.
Please complete the below application and our will team will be in touch to learn more about what you're looking for/how best we can support you.

This program is intended for self-identifying young women facing any type of cancer between the ages of 18-40, and are still between this age group. You will be matched for up to 6 short-term peer support sessions, and the sessions must occur within 7-months of starting with your peer supporter.
This program is NOT intended to replace therapy or physician involvement. Our Peer Supporters will not give medical, religious, financial or marital advice, be a crisis support (ie. calls/texts 24 hours a day), solve all problems or know every answer, or silence, invalidate or disenfranchise the stories of self-identifying young women living with cancer and/or the effects of cancer.
If you believe that you would be better suited to chat with a social worker, then we suggest you apply to our One-on-One counselling program (www.pinkpearlcanada.org/one-on-one).
