St Hurmizd Assyrian Primary School is running the Learn-To-Swim Program during Term 4. Students in Years K-6 will be involved in a 45 minute swimming session starting on Wednesday 24th October and ends on Thursday 6th December (weeks 2-8).
Swimming days for the grades will be as follows:
WEDNESDAY - Year 4 THURSDAY - Year 1, Class 2T, Year 3 and Year 5FRIDAY - Kindergarten, Class 1A, Year 2, Class 3/4H and Year 6 (Please note there will be no swimming lessons on Friday 23rd November and Friday 7th December, instead make up days will take place on Tuesday 20th November and Tuesday 4th December).
The lessons are not only designed to improve swimming skills but also to teach the students about water safety and life saving techniques. The Learn-To-Swim Program is COMPULSORY for all St Hurmizd Assyrian Primary School students. It is imperative that all students learn these vital life saving skills.
The program will be conducted at Mounties Leisure Centre. M1 Mounties Leisure Centre has an indoor pool that is heated and students are required to wear swimming cap during their lesson. This will ensure students are kept warm and will minimise the chance of students getting sick.
There will be no charge for these lessons as the cost of the lesson, entry fee into the pool, and the transportation to and from school has been included in your child's school fees.
Please ensure that your child brings a towel, enclosed sandals/clogs, appropriate swimwear (one piece for girls) and a swimming cap. Kindergarten students and any student that have lost or misplaced their swimming cap are able to bring in their own until our new swimming caps arrives. Any students that have the existing swimming caps from previous years are expected to bring them to each swimming lesson.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact the school office.
