This session is aimed at complete beginners who have a laptop that is slow but usable. It will be a hands on session where individuals will bring their laptops and will be show how to complete the following tasks.
Please note spaces are limited, booking essential and you must bring the laptop you want to work on along with you.
The session will focus on:
1. Opening up devices and dusting them (dust clogging up fans and verts, preventing the laptop from cooling down)
2. Defragging (defragmenting your hard drive makes your computer run faster. It's like a cleaning service for your PC, it picks up all of the pieces of data that are spread across your hard drive and puts them back together again in an organized way that makes your PC quicker)
3. Installing Linux on older devices (Linux provides many advantages over other operating systems: Open-source software available for everyone to contribute, modify, and enhance it. It's also available for users to download and use for free. Linux is less vulnerable and more secure than Windows operating systems, and it rarely slows down or crashes.)
4. Backing up documents and images on a cloud service
