Become a Community Educator for New Orleans
You are who we’ve been waiting for.
OPEN exists to make civic engagement a lifestyle: where empowering community to influence public policy is easy, accessible, and impactful. Share your skills with the community by teaching a workshop on a variety of civic topic from parent leadership and student rights to how to engage policymakers and knowing your voting rights.
Whether you share this information as part of your profession or as a passion we want to hear from you and help you work with communities to build their capacity to make change for children.
It’s a win-win-win: OPEN promotes the event and provides logistical support. You get the opportunity to get your message out there (and a small stipend for some workshops), and the people of New Orleans get the benefit of your guidance. Let's do something great together:
I want to:
Teach a Family Leadership Training Institute session
Teach a one-off advocacy or organizing workshop
Attend and report on local education events and meetings
Volunteer at events or in direct organizing
